Privacy Policy · Effective July 15, 2026
The short version: GreenList doesn't collect your data.
Your grocery lists belong to you. They live on your device and in your own
iCloud account — we can't read them, we don't want to, and there's nothing
for us to sell, share, or lose.
What data the app handles, and where it goes
- Your lists (stores, items, schedules, purchase history)
are stored on your device and synced through your private iCloud
(CloudKit) database. Apple encrypts this data in transit and at rest,
and it is accessible only to your Apple Account — not to us.
- Household sharing uses Apple's iCloud sharing. When you
share a store, only the people you invite can see it. We are never a party
to the share.
- Location is used only if you tap "Suggest Nearby Stores"
during setup, and only while the app is in use. Your location is used
on-device to run an Apple Maps search for store names near you. It is never
stored, never leaves your device to any server of ours, and you can use
GreenList fully without granting it.
- Purchases (GreenList Plus) are processed entirely by
Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.
What we don't do
- No accounts. You never register or give us an email.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No ads, and no data shared with or sold to third parties.
- No server of ours ever receives your lists or your location.
Data retention and deletion
Because your data lives on your device and in your iCloud account, you are
always in control. Deleting the app removes its local data; you can remove the
synced copy at any time in Settings → Apple Account → iCloud →
Manage Storage → GreenList.
Children
GreenList does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
The app is rated 4+ and contains no third-party content or ads.
Changes to this policy
If GreenList ever changes how it handles data (for example, adding optional
analytics), this page will be updated first and the change will be reflected in
the App Store privacy label before it ships.
